Minutes of May Trail Hawk Board Meeting

The Lawrence Trail Hawks Board of Directors held its monthly meeting May 17, at the Lawrence Public Library. Attending: Matt O’Reilly, President, Benita Jones, Vice President; Josh McVey, Treasurer; Kara Protasio, Secretary; Ami Weidler-Hyten, RD for the Hawk, Trudi Chavez, Saturday Run Leader and Gary Henry, former Secretary. Matt called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m.

Matt deferred the conflict of interest policy discussion until next meeting. Gary has volunteered to edit the conflict of interest documents for the board.

Minutes of April Trail Hawk Board Meeting

The Lawrence Trail Hawks Board of Directors held its monthly meeting April 11, at Josh McVey’s house. Attending: Matt O’Reilly, President, Benita Jones, Vice President; Josh McVey, Treasurer; Kara Protasio, Secretary; Caroline Wroczynski, Membership Chair; and Jeff Triplett, Webmaster. Matt called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m.

Josh’s Treasury Report: As of 4/8/17 The total balance of the Trail Hawks budget is $11,532. What we currently have for an operation budget is $1,974.34. We spent $2,695 on club t-shirts. We need to sell our shirts to make more revenue.

At one of these Whitewater Center meetings last October, Linda Craghead, assistant secretary of parks and tourism, said she would love to see alternative ideas to help the parks make some money. So I sent her the following email with a few ideas for less expensive, less intrusive ideas for methods that could be instituted in many parks, trying to be positive and encouraging as possible.

REPORT ON WHITEWATER CENTER MEETING MARCH 8, 2017

I went to the community meeting about the proposed Whitewater Park development at Clinton Lake, held at the Cider Gallery in North Lawrence last night. The Gallery generously donated the space for an hour, but we were there, peppering the presenter, Jeff Wise, with questions for about 90 minutes. Several Attend 9th Annual Lawrence Trail Hawks All Hands Meeting

After eating several delicious goodies and countless enjoyable conversations, former President Sherri “Signer Hawk” Klover called the 9th annual Lawrence Trail Hawk all hands meeting to order around 7:08 p.m. on Jan. 21. Klover began the meeting with her address to all the members.

“This year was a year of kindness,” said Klover.

Klover continued to talk about the successful year of 2016. This was the first year that all Trail Hawk races were profitable and how some of that money has gone to replacing old equipment. …
